Epic June continues as we continue to share a project every day. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and stay tuned to all of the things!

This week, we bring you a marine habitat! The team from BanG Studios partnered with Bold Machines to 3D print their custom molds of “Reef Balls” for the Billion Oyster Pavilion. As part of the Billion Oyster Project habitat creation effort, these custom-cast pieces serve as the base of the Pavilion. They’re made from a special concrete mixture with an oyster shell aggregate and an appropriate pH for New York Harbor.

The great thing about this project is that once they are done being on display on Governor's Island, they will be put into New York Harbor for oysters to live on.

Want to create your own oyster habitat? Download the models and make your own molds at the BanG Studios Thingiverse page.

You must select a collection to display.
